Boskalis Westminster Limited wishes to advise that commencing on or around Wednesday 16th of October 2024 Pevensey Coastal Defence Limited have commissioned shingle replenishment works in the Pevensey Bay area between Langney Point and Cooden, mainly to the immediate east of Sovereign Harbour.

The shingle will be delivered by the hopper dredger “Sospan Dau”.

The vessel will sail from the dredge area at Owers Bank to the recharge area in Pevensey Bay adjacent to Sovereign Harbour. The delivery will take place from approximately 2 hours before high tide (HW) until 1 hour after.

The vessel will keep a listening watch on VHF channel16.

All Mariners, Fishermen, Yachtsmen and other recreational users of these waters are asked to provide a wide berth to the dredger, particularly when she makes her approach to the beach and during discharge operations close to the beach.

The duration of the works is weather dependent, but this work is expected to be completed within two weeks.
