We want to thank all of you that were able to visit our show stand on our joint Southsea and Falmouth Marina day and throughout the 10 days of the show. It was a pleasure to welcome nearly 4000 guests to the stand and we hope you found your visit both enjoyable and informative.

Return of the falcon

It was great to have welcomed back our falconry expert to help deter starlings from roosting at the marina. Starlings feed on a diet of blackberries and marine insects which means they are near the marina and gather on the masts of boats to provide a good vantage point from which to spot predators. A hybrid falcon called 'The Gentleman' was flown at Southsea Marina three times a week during the autumn months to discourage the starlings from resting on the boats. Following feedback we will look at introducing The Gentleman earlier next season.
