That’s a wrap on the Southampton International Boat Show 2024! We want to thank all of you that were able to visit our show stand on our dedicated Brighton Marina day and throughout the 10 days of the show. It was a pleasure to welcome nearly 4000 guests to the stand and we hope you found your visit both enjoyable and informative.
Welcoming a new face to the team
We are delighted to welcome Jamie Degnin to the Brighton Marina team as our new Duty Manager. Coming from a background in construction, Jamie has a wealth of health and safety knowledge as well as a passion to help customers. Jamie comments “I am used to joining new teams in the construction world, but I have never felt as welcome as I have here at Brighton. I look forward to engaging with the berth holders on the marina and helping further advance their customer service experience.”
Celebrating apprenticeship achievements
We are thrilled to celebrate the achievements of four incredible employees who have successfully graduated from the Marina and Boatyard Apprenticeship in collaboration with South Devon College! A huge congratulations to Ava Cousins, Will Kilpatrick, Lewis Jones and Brighton's own Albi Paris,
Albi will now stay on as a valuable member of the Brighton Marina team - congratulations Albi!
Improving your access to our boatyard
Following your feedback, a new walkway has now been installed to the boatyard, completed by Walcon Marine. The walkway provides easy access to vessels when they have been launched or are waiting to be lifted, providing a safe and convenient access route and enables you to load and unload vessels on the waiting pontoon and take trollies.
I also want to remind you the lock is now closed until Sunday 1st December, subject to weather conditions. If you were planning to arrange for you boat to be in the boatyard during this time, please get in touch with us and we can discuss your options.
James Ketchell sets off from Gosport Marina
Last month, adventurer James Ketchell began his planned record-breaking attempt to solo circumnavigation of the globe, starting at our very own Gosport Marina. James will be tackling a remarkable 30,000 nautical mile journey aboard his Class 40 yacht, "Mindset", of which Premier Marinas are proudly sponsoring.
