Premier Marinas is delighted to announce the Swanwick Floating Marina Regeneration Project is entering its final phase and the finish line is in sight!
The pontoon renewal project started back in 2018 and various phases of dredging and pontoon installation have been completed already across different areas of the marina.
Walcon Marine were contracted to install the new pontoons, piles and majority of the main walkways as part of the pontoon project but due to COVID-19, the works were temporarily halted. However, the Walcon Marine team, with the help of their “Walcon Wizard” are now back working at the marina and production on the last pontoons has started.
The Walcon Marine team has been working alongside electrical contractors Sureline and other key contractors to kick start the project works again and continue the hard work started before the COVID-19 related break.
John Donald, Contracts Director at Walcon Marine says: “The pontoon we are starting to deck is the last pontoon required to complete the rebuild of the Swanwick Marina project – where have the last 18 months gone!
“With the culmination of this project on the horizon, we hope to complete the waterside works in the next fortnight, with minor snagging to be completed over the next month.”
Graham Bristowe, Swanwick Marina Manager says: “We are so excited to welcome the Walcon Marine team and their Walcon Wizard back to Swanwick Marina and see the final stage of the pontoon renewal come to life. This project was an incredible investment from Premier into our marina and we can’t wait to welcome new customers to berth at Swanwick Marina and to enjoy everything we have to offer.”
