Following extensive lock surveys, assessment of tidal data and meetings with our contractors, our winter lock maintenance project at Sovereign Harbour will begin in March.
Lock 2 (closest to the marina reception) will close on Thursday 9th March 2023 for four weeks, with a planned reopening on Wednesday 5th April, subject to weather and the condition of the lock during the maintenance works.
Please be aware that the lock walkways will be shut to pedestrians on Thursday 9th March, Wednesday 5th April and Thursday 6th April. There may also be lock interruption on these dates whilst we lift equipment over the operational lock.
With the number of lock movements we will be performing each day increasing, we kindly ask that boat owners switch on their radios when transiting the locks, to ensure open communication. All station announcements will be made on Channel 17 informing berth holders of any restrictions or hazards.
