As part of Premier’s continued investment in its marinas, the company has acquired Endeavour Quay, a specialist boatyard located at the mouth of Portsmouth Harbour and immediately adjacent to Premier’s Gosport Marina.
Endeavour Quay boasts one of the largest boat lifting facilities on the South Coast and offers a 24-hour lifting service via a 180 tonne travel hoist that’s backed by three fully serviced large boat sheds, project management facilities and deep water berthing for yachts up to 40m (5 metres draft). There is also an Alto 45 tonne boat mover, a large boat winch and a 35 tonne crane for mast work.
As part of the Premier group, the yard will continue to serve its existing customers and will provide additional boatyard facilities for Premier’s Berth Holders, trading as Premier Endeavour Quay.
Endeavour Quay has been successfully managed by Tim Newell who will, supported by the Premier group and his professional boatyard staff, continue to operate the business focussing on the private large yacht market, commercial vessels, race yachts and superyachts.
Previously the famous and historic Camper & Nicholson’s’ yard, the site celebrates an unrivalled yacht racing pedigree having been the home to the design and build of the renowned J-Class yachts. Since then the reputation of Endeavour Quay has travelled far and wide with the yard hosting Volvo Ocean Race teams, Open 60’s including Alex Thomson’s Hugo Boss, the Clipper Round the World Race yachts, J-Class yachts the Admirals Cup fleet, tall ships, various superyachts and many more.
Pete Bradshaw, Premier’s Chief Executive Officer commented , “It is great news that Premier Marinas can now include the Endeavour Quay as part of its boatyard portfolio, it is a fantastic addition to the group. It significantly increases the offering to our berth holders and visitors and fits neatly alongside our Portsmouth Harbour marinas operation with Gosport and Port Solent.”
