Have you come across Kevin the new Lock Operative at Port Solent? Kevin brings with him over 13 years of marina experience having worked at Eastbourne, Southsea and a previous stint at Port Solent.
He is also a commercially endorsed powerboat instructor, jet ski instructor and yacht day skipper and has his own yacht so has a wealth of knowledge.
You’re likely to speak to one of our Lock Operatives on the VHF as you transit the lock. They are key to the service we provide at Port Solent and likely to be the first and last contact with boaters as they enter and leave the marina. They are also at hand to help with lines and provide navigational guidance. Our lock runs 24 hours a day and the lock operatives work four days on, four days off to ensure berth holders have access as and when they need.
