Last month, adventurer James Ketchell began his planned record-breaking attempt to solo circumnavigation of the globe, starting at our very own Gosport Marina.
James will be tackling a remarkable 30,000 nautical mile journey aboard his Class 40 yacht, "Mindset", of which Premier Marinas are proudly sponsoring.
During the sail, James’ main mission is to take young people on a virtual journey around the world, inspiring them to try new things, believe in themselves and develop the right mindset.
Sadly, due to suffering a gear box problem during his first leg, James has had to pause his journey in Plymouth. After considering the timing to cross the Southern Ocean, he will now start his challenge again next spring from Gosport.
We’ll be following his progress in the build up to what we hope will then be his record-breaking trip.
