We are delighted to announce the 2024 dredging campaign at Brighton Marina will begin in the week commencing 6th May.
The dredging programme is carried out between our external dredging contractor, ML Dredging and our own dredger 'Doris'.
Brighton Marina is licenced by the MMO to remove 77,000 cubic meters or 100,000 tonnes of silt per year.
This year will see the harbour entrance and visitor bays being dredged first, followed by part of the centre fairway, the southern fairway around to the lock and between pontoons 24 and 25.
As contractor ML Dredging is expected to arrive at Brighton Marina in the week commencing 6th May to commence operations, all boats are advised to take note of Brighton Marina notice to mariners 7 of 2024 and monitor VHF channels 80 and 37 for vessel movements in the harbour. During the dredging operations, regular messages and updates will also be announced on these VHF channels and through notices to mariners.
We thank you for your understanding as we carry out this year's essential programme of dredging maintenance.
