2019 has seen a year of investment at Brighton Marina. Alongside the normal dredge programme from Premier’s own dredger “Doris”, ML dredging has been on site to not only dredge the marina entrance and a large area within the marina basin. This extensive dredging programme will continue over the next few years removing silt from the marina.
Adding to this, 2019 has a further investment into the marina infrastructure with a number of pontoon piles being replaced, the arrival of new RIB Versa Docks, many new finger pontoons and a revamp of the exterior marina reception.
The Brighton Marina team also commissioned the new West Quay pontoon, giving greater capacity to the site for visitors and large rallies. Some of the marina's commercial and pleasure vessels are already using the new pontoon which was part of a Premier's £150,000 regeneration plan. On the East Jetty Premier has installed a brand-new launderette facility that has been warmly welcomed and houses Premier's first coinless payment system for its launderettes.
Customers that have recently visited the Brighton Marina boatyard will have seen the new forklift truck stationed alongside the new remote controlled E-Axle and boat mover that can haul up to 20 tonnes. This enables the boatyard team to work more effectively within the tight confines of the Brighton Marina boatyard.
The most recent developments at the marina include the Marina Reception external facelift with new fascia and branding. Work has also started on the new West Jetty facilities building which will see the bathroom facilities brought up to the same standard as to that of the East Jetty, berth holders are reminded that throughout this time the car park next to the West Jetty ramp will remain closed until the works to refurbish the facilities have been completed.
The staff at Brighton Marina hope that all berth holders have had a very Merry Christmas and are looking forward to seeing you in 2020 for another stellar year at the marina with plenty to look forward to, including what will hopefully be another excellent boating season.
